Feeling stuck, disconnected, or unheard? You don’t have to sort it out alone.

MFT Intern · Under supervision by Angela Shelley she/her

Therapy is a place to feel safe, understood, and empowered to say what matters most.

You may connect with Jen if…

  • You and your partner keep having the same argument and want to actually feel heard by each other again.
  • You’re preparing for marriage, or navigating divorce or co-parenting, and want support making the transition with more clarity and less conflict.
  • A pregnancy, a new baby, or the postpartum season has left you feeling stretched thin, unlike yourself, or unsure how to ask for help.
  • Your family is changing shape and you want steadier ways to communicate through it.
  • You’re carrying grief or a loss that you haven’t had space to put into words.
  • You’re questioning who you are, what you want, or what gives your life meaning, and you’d like a thoughtful partner in figuring it out.

What therapy with Jen may feel like

Jen works collaboratively, which means the two of you decide together what’s most helpful rather than following a fixed script. Sessions are a place to slow down and put hard-to-name experiences into words.

She draws on narrative and emotionally focused ideas in plain, everyday language, helping you notice the stories you tell about yourself and your relationships, and the emotions underneath them. You can expect warmth, curiosity, and a steady, non-judgmental presence, with room to move at your own pace toward greater clarity, connection, and confidence.

About Jen

What drew me to marriage and family therapy?

My passion for couples therapy began while I was completing my undergraduate degree in Marriage, Family, and Human Development at Brigham Young University. I became especially interested in how relationships, communication, and family experiences shape the way people understand themselves and connect with one another.

What I value about the therapeutic relationship

I want my clients to feel safe, respected, and empowered to share the parts of their lives that may feel difficult or vulnerable. I value a collaborative relationship where you feel heard and included in the process, and where we work together to decide what feels helpful, meaningful, and aligned with your goals.

A little about me outside of therapy

Outside of therapy, I am a wife and mom of three boys.  I love spending time with my family. I also enjoy watching sports, hiking, attending concerts, and reading. I believe deeply in having a growth mindset, and that continues to shape my desire to learn both personally and professionally.
